Policies
Our dedicated staff, freelancers, volunteers and participants are all asked to observe and comply with Young Identity's Policies and Codes of Conduct. By adhering to these guidelines, we foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for everyone involved in our community.
Codes of conduct
By registering as a Young Identity Member you promise to adhere to our Participant Code of Conduct.
In working with Young Identity and participating in any activity within its programme, you are joining a community designed to nurture and support young artists. Like any community, we have codes of conduct that we expect everyone to agree to prior to participation. We are dedicated to providing a safe space for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, neurodiversity, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion or beliefs and we expect you to respect the pronouns indicated by individuals.
We operate a zero-tolerance policy regarding harassment, discrimination and intimidation of participants or members of staff in any form. This includes but is not limited to, offensive verbal comments, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, misgendering, deliberate intimidation, sustained disruption of workshops or other events, inappropriate physical contact and unwelcome sexual attention.
Our Codes of conduct outline our guidelines and expectations of our Participants, Staff, Freelancers and Volunteers.
Safeguarding
At Young Identity we are committed to safeguarding the welfare of all children and adults at risk of harm. Our safeguarding policy and guidelines recognises our duty as an organisation to ensure the safety and well-being of children and adults at risk is at the forefront of our practice and that we equip all our full-time staff, freelancers and volunteers with the tools and confidence to take active and informed responsibility for safeguarding across all strands of our work.
To achieve this, Young Identity has developed a robust policy and formal procedures in line with government legislation and charity commission changes, that are followed by all individuals working for the organisation. Our policy and procedures are annually reviewed and updated, our Safeguarding Committee meets regularly to monitor safeguarding practices and all staff members receive professional training.
